Hunt, Shoot, Capture: The Photographer’s Way

Shooting the birds (and bugs) has provided us many opportunities to get outside, enjoy nature, and create a fun learning environment. There is only so much an illustrated picture can teach a child. Being outdoors, watching the birds fly by, listening to them sing, and being up-close through pictures provides the hands-on learning experience I strive for every day.

We live outside of Boston in a small, old house with a tiny yard.  We make the best possible use of our space and grow stuff in every nook and cranny of our yard. In a typical year, we grow tomatoes, hops, peas, string beans, raspberries, and squash, to name a few.

Green Crafting

Children love to craft! It gives them the ability to express their inner world. They can use their imagination, and transform it into action. They can build amazing projects, and feel proud about them.

The thing is…crafting supplies are expensive. And sometimes, you just don’t have the time to run and buy new supplies. This is how my recycling craft journey began.
